On May 29, 1844, USSConstitutionset forth on what would become a two year voyage around the world. It was the Ship’s first and only circumnavigation, touching at 24 ports of call before returning to Boston in 1846.
Join us for a talk with Prof. Robert J. Allison, a leading expert onConstitution’s World Cruise. Get a rare glimpse of items from our Collection that “Mad Jack” and members of his crew acquired during their travels and chat with our curators to get the inside scoop.
Sample global cuisine from some of “Old Ironsides’” exotic ports of call. Raise a glass as you mix and mingle with fellow history enthusiasts, world travelers, sailors, and Museum leadership. The event concludes with the Ship’s evening colors at 8:22 pm.
