Commemoration of the 78th Anniversary of the Attack on Pearl Harbor
Join us starting at 10:30 am at the USS Constitution Museum to commemorate the 78th anniversary of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, HI, which brought the US into WWII. New York Times bestselling author William Martin will be the guest speaker offering reflections on “Pearl Harbor in Monument and Memory: Finding the Stories within the Story.”
A procession will then head down at noon to USS CASSIN YOUNG, which is named after Captain Cassin Young, awarded the Medal of Honor for his actions aboard USS VESTAL during the Japanese attack. A wreath will be laid near the stern of CASSIN YOUNG at the conclusion of the program.
Following this event, join the National Parks of Boston for warm beverages and conversation from 12:30 pm to 4:30 pm in the Navy Yard Visitor Center. A special presentation of recorded interviews and recollections of those who experienced the attack on Pearl Harbor will be shown in the Visitor Center theater.
