In the Yard: Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony

December 7, 2019

The crew of USS Constitution is scheduled to host their annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony Saturday, December 7 at 4:30 p.m. on the Ship. The public is invited to attend this free event, which will include holiday music, free hot chocolate and cookies, an appearance by Santa Claus and his elves, and remarks from USS Constitution’s Commanding Officer.

“This year, as we reflect on our accomplishments and enjoy time with friends and family, we can think of no more fitting way to kick off the holiday season than celebrating together with the great people of Boston and our passionate supporters,” said Cmdr. Nathaniel R. Shick, USS Constitution’s 75th Commanding Officer.

Guests may begin boarding the Ship for the ceremony at 3:45 p.m. and are invited to observe evening colors with the crew, during which, USS Constitution will fire her saluting battery at 4:12 p.m. Following the ceremony, guests will be permitted to tour the ship until 6 p.m.
