In the Yard: Restoring USS Constitution, America’s Ship of State, in the 21st Century

August 24, 2016

Join Margherita Desy, Historian with USS Constitution, for a 30-minute discussion of the current 3-year dry docking and restoration of “Old Ironsides”. Get a peek at the work underway to preserve the U.S. Navy’s oldest commissioned warship and learn about the Charlestown Navy Yard’s 1833 Dry Dock, an “engineering marvel” of its day. This program will occur on August 19th, 22nd, and 24th at 2:30 PM. All those interested in attending should meet in the USS Constitution Museum’s lobby.

This program is hosted by the Naval History & Heritage Command Detachment Boston and is part of Summer on the Waterfront’s Charlestown Week.
