Join us on Thursday, December 8 at 4 p.m. for a special veterans-only woodworking event. USS Constitution Model Shipwright Guild member and U.S. Air Force veteran Michael Davison will teach participants how to create a small wooden “comfort bird.”

The wooden birds are soothing tactical objects, used to provide comfort during a time of stress or anxiety. This event will provide a welcoming environment for veterans to meet one another and create this meaningful object. Each veteran participant will make one comfort bird to keep or give to other local veterans.

Wood carving experience is encouraged. Space is limited and advance registration is required. Please complete the form below to register for the event.

If you have any questions, please email museumlearning@usscm.org.
