In the Yard: Rosies Invade the Charlestown Navy Yard

August 26, 2016 - August 27, 2016

Join Boston National Historical Park for a two-day extravaganza celebrating the role of women workers at the Charlestown Navy Yard and the Centennial of the National Park Service! Thousands of women worked in the Navy Yard during World War II. They fulfilled roles from painters to welders, and riveters to sheet metal workers. On the 100th anniversary of the National Park Service, come celebrate the work of these women with music, swing dancing, special tours and talks, and activities for the whole family!

Ongoing Activities:
Hands on History: Make your own rope, rivet a ribbon bracelet, make your own work badge, SWON coloring book, and a “We Can Do It!” selfie booth.
