Mutinous Expedition

Relive the story of Jack Tarr, an ordinary seaman aboard Constitution, and his struggle to decide whether to join a mutinous crew or stay loyal to Captain Bainbridge. Explore the galleries to find hidden clues to help inform your decision in this scavenger hunt.

Letters to Our Troops

Times: 9:00 am - 6:00 pm
Location: Today's Crew Exhibit

Over 2.2 million men and women serve in the United States’ armed forces. Show your support for their dedication, sacrifice, and service by writing a letter today. The Museum, partnered with the Operation Gratitude, will distribute the letters.

Seabag Discovery Kits

Times: 9:00 am - 6:00 pm
Location: Museum Lobby

Come discover what the Navy Yard has to offer with fun and games for all!  Pick one up for the duration of your stay and explore the sites by looking through a telescope, drawing your own figurehead, telling a story using our picture cards, and snuggling a Guerriere the Terrier stuffed animals.

Hide & Seek Guerriere

The Museum's canine mascot -  Guerriere the Terrier - has put on several disguises and hidden around the Museum.  Can you find all of his 12 hiding spots?

Marked for Life

Times: 10:30 am - 11:45 am
Location: Forest to Frigate Exhibit

Learn the history of sailors' tattoos and mark yourself with a temporary tattoo. Tattoos cost between $1 and $2. Proceeds help support the Museum's educational programs.

Life at Sea

Are you willing to eat a biscuit as hard as a brick? Discover what is for lunch in this delicious program about the early sailor’s daily diet.

Below Deck Tour of USS Cassin Young

Times: 11:00 am - 11:45 am, 2:00 pm - 2:45 pm, 3:00 pm - 3:45 pm
Location: USS Cassin Young

Explore above and below the main deck of USS Cassin Young with a National Park Service Ranger. Tours are limited to 12 visitors and tickets are given out on a first-come, first served basis beginning 10 minutes before each scheduled tour. Visitors must also be over 42" in height to safely climb the ladders.

Are you ready to have a blast? Step into the role of the courageous crew who manned USS Constitution’s cannons and learn the science and steps required to fire a 32-pound carronade in this family friendly program.

Boston Area Chantey & Maritime Sing

Times: 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Location: Education Center

Listen, learn, and lift your voices! Participate in your Maritime Heritage by joining a rousing chorus of sea chanteys at the USS Constitution Museum. These monthly gatherings, on the 3rd Sunday of every month, are family friendly and open to anyone who would like to participate.
