Early Life

Archibald Rolston was born in 1787 in Ireland.

On his enlistment, Rolston was described as being 5 feet4 inches tall, with blue eyes, light brown hair and a light complexion.

Rolston enlisted in the Marine Corps as a private on December 16, 1811 at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He entered USS Constitution on July 1, 1812 at Washington Navy Yard. Rolston was transferred to Charlestown Navy Yard on March 27, 1813 at Boston, Massachusetts, then entered USS Chesapeake on May 17. He was discharged on April 30, 1817.

Battles and Engagements

Rolston was on board for the battles with HMS Guerriere, HMS Java, HMS Cyane and HMS Levant.

Rolston’s date and place of death are unknown.
