GPS ADDRESS & PARKING
The USS Constitution Museum does not have a physical street address. For this reason, we recommend entering in the Nautica Parking Garage information into your GPS Navigation. Their address is 88 Constitution Road, Boston, MA 02129.
FROM NORTH (I-93)
Take “Sullivan Square/Charlestown” exit (#28). Go straight to the set of traffic lights. At rotary, turn onto Rutherford Avenue and drive past Bunker Hill Community College. At second traffic light, turn left onto Chelsea Street. Follow directions below.
FROM NORTH (RTE. 1S)
Follow Rte. 1S over Tobin Bridge. Take Charlestown/Somerville exit. At traffic light, turn right onto Rutherford Avenue. At traffic light, turn left onto Chelsea Street. Follow directions below.
Take Massachusetts Turnpike (I-90) to the end. Take 1-93N and follow “From South” directions.
FROM SOUTH (I-93)
Take the I-93 North tunnel. Stay in the right lane. Take exit (#23) (Govt. Center/Aquarium). After exit, follow the sign for North Station. Proceed straight onto N. Washington Street and across the Bridge. Turn right at end of the bridge onto Chelsea Street. Follow directions below.
Once on Chelsea Street: Continue along Chelsea Street to the second traffic light and turn right onto Constitution Road. Look for the Nautica Garage public parking entrance on the right. Although public transportation is strongly recommended, discounted parking with Boston National Historical Park validation (which is offered at the Museum) is available at the Nautica Parking Garage.
BUS DROP-OFF & PARKING
Continue on Chelsea Street to first traffic light and turn right onto Warren Street. Make a left turn at the stop sign onto Constitution Road. The Charlestown Navy Yard has a designated turnaround area located on Constitution Road for bus drop-off. Afterwards, The Boston Autoport (100 Terminal Street) in Charlestown is available for short-term motor coach and school bus parking. The cost is $10.00 for school buses and $20.00 for coach buses. The Boston Autoport is a privately owned and operated facility is not affiliated with the USS Constitution Museum.
The Green & Yellow Cab is the preferred taxi service in the Navy Yard and services Boston, Somerville, Cambridge, Medford, and Arlington. Scheduling a pick-up in the Navy Yard is easy and can be done either through their website or by phone at 617-625-5000. The Green & Yellow Cab is a privately owned and operated company and is a sponsor of the USS Constitution Museum.
MBTA Water Shuttle
Frequent service runs daily from Long Wharf (near the New England Aquarium). From the Water Shuttle’s Charlestown pier, walk down to the end of the pier and take a left into the Charlestown Navy Yard. The Museum is the building on the left as you enter the Navy Yard.
Commuter Rail (Points South, West & East)
Old Colony & Fairmont Lines to South Station: From South Station take the Red Line (2 stops) to the Park Street stop and switch to the Green Line Eastbound (3 stops) to the North Station stop (see below for walking instructions) OR from South Station walk down Atlantic Avenue 5 blocks to Long Wharf by the New England Aquarium from which you can take the MBTA Water Shuttle to the Charlestown Navy Yard.
From all other Southside Lines: Get off at Back Bay Station and take the Orange Line directly to North Station (see below for walking instructions).
Commuter Rail (Points North): Directly into North Station (see below for walking instructions).
Take the Green or Orange line to North Station.
Walking Directions: Walk east on Causeway Street towards the Zakim Bridge/North End. At the first light (N. Washington Street), turn left and cross the Charlestown Bridge. Follow the Freedom Trail Red Line to the Charlestown Navy Yard and enter through Gate 1. The Museum is located straight ahead in the grey granite building label Building 22.
Take Bus #93 from the Haymarket or Sullivan Square Station to Charlestown Navy Yard stop.
