Early Life

Benjamin B Osgood was born in 1788 in Salem, Massachusetts.

On his enlistment, Osgood was described as being 5 feet 3 inches tall, with blue eyes, light hair and a fair complexion.

Osgood enlisted as a private in the Marine Corps on June 25, 1813 at Charlestown. He reported to USS Constitution on September 6, 1813 at Boston, Massachusetts. He was transferred to the Charlestown Navy Yard from July 5 to December 14, 1814 while the ship was blockaded in Boston.

Battles and Engagements

Osgood was on board for the battle with HMS Cyane and HMS Levant.

Osgood died on 11 12, 1817.
