Early Life

David Mead was born in either 1789 or 1790 in New York, New York.

On his enlistment, Mead was described as being 5′ 7″ tall, with blue eyes, light brown hair and a fair complexion.

Mead enlisted in the Marine Corps on July 19, 1813 at Charlestown. His rank was private. He entered USS Constitution on August 13. He transferred to ex-HMS Cyane as part of the prize crew on February 20, 1815. Mead was promoted on February 13, 1818 to corporal, discharged on July 19, 1818 at Boston.

Battles and Engagements

Mead was on board for the battle with HMS Cyane and HMS Levant.

Mead became a farmer after leaving the Marine Corps. His date and place of death are unknown.
