Early Life

Dulany Forrest was born in Maryland. His date of birth are not known.

Forrest received his commission on May 18, 1809, and entered USS Constitution on September 9, 1812 at Boston, Massachusetts. His rank was midshipman. Forrest transferred from USS Constitution to the Great Lakes squadron in 1813.

Battles and Engagements

Forrest was on board for the battle with HMS Java .

Forrest transferred to USS General Pike on July 1813 at Lake Ontario. His rank was lieutenant. He was wounded by grape shot on the USS General Pike on September 10, 1813. In 1825, he was appointed lieutenant commandant on the USS Decoy in the West Indies. Forrest died from yellow fever on October 1, 1825 on passage from Havana.
