Early Life

Wooderson’s place and date of birth are unknown. Beginning in January 1814, Wooderson authorized an allotment of $5.00 per month for 17 months to one Caty Smith, but her relation to the sailor is not known.

Woodson joined Constitution ’s crew as an ordinary seaman on June 18, 1813 at Boston, and was discharged on June 24, 1815 at the same port.

Battles and Engagements

Wooderson was on board when Constitution captured a British man-of-war schooner and three merchant vessels. He fought in the battle with HMS Cyane and HMS Levant on February 20, 1815 and received $22.19 in prize money for the latter ship.

Wooderson’s date and place of death are unknown.
