Early Life

George Parker was born in Virginia. His date of birth is not known.

Parker received his warrant on February 3, 1800. His rank was Midshipman. On March 30, 1807, he was promoted to lieutenant. Parker entered USS Constitution on October 2, 1812. He transferred from USS Constitution on February 17, 1813 at Boston, Massachusetts. Parker later received a commission as Master Conmmandant and was transferred to USS Siren on August, 1813 at Boston, Massachusetts. In the battle with HMS Java, took the ship’s cutter to the defeated Java and brought back the Java‘s fist lieutenant, as the Java‘s captain had been mortally wounded, to surrender the ship and his captain’s sword.

Parker was on board for the battle with HMS Java.

Parker died on board the USS Siren on March 11, 1814, 12 days after the ship sailed from Salem, Massachusetts.
