Early Life

George Reynolds was born in either 1780 or 1787 in North Kingston, Rhode Island to George and Sarah Reynolds.

Reynolds married Ann Reynolds on September 11, 1803 in Rhode Island. They may have had two or three children.

Early Experience

He had been a blacksmith before joining the navy.

Reynolds entered USS Constitution on May 10, 1811 at Boston, Massachusetts. His rank was ordinary seaman. In 1812, he was promoted to able seaman. He was wounded in action during the battle with HMS Guerriere.

Battles and Engagements

Reynolds was on board for the battles with HMS Guerriere, HMS Java, HMS Cyane and HMS Levant.

Reynolds died in September 1815 in Charlestown, Massachusetts, reportedly as the result of a wound suffered in action, though Constitution‘s last action was against HMS Cyane and HMS Levant in February, 1815.
