Early Life

Day’s place and date of birth are unknown. Day resided in Gloucester, Massachusetts around 1856.

Isaac Day joined Constitution ’s crew as a quarter gunner before June 24, 1813. He was promoted to gunner’s mate on October 10, 1813. In 1814, he had the watch assignment of starboard and the station assignment of quarter gunner. He was discharged for the first time on September 28, 1814. Day reentered as a gunner’s mate on October 18, 1814. He was either discharged on July 16, 1815 or after September 10, 1815.

Battles and Engagements

Day participated in the battles with HMS Cyane and HMS Levant and received $126.93 in prize money.
