Hiltz was on board for the battles with HMS Cyane and HMS Levant, and the capture of HMS Pictou.
Hiltz’s date and place of death are unknown, but he applied for a pension in 1856. He was reported as being disabled by then, but it was determined that he had not become so while in military service.
