Early Life

Jacob Hiltz’s place and date of birth are not known.

Hiltz had his allotted his pay to Hannah Hiltz, but her relationship is unknown.

Hiltz entered USS Constitution on May 19, 1813 at Boston, Massachusetts. His rank was quartermaster. He was discharged on June 15, 1815 at Boston, Massachusetts. His rank was quartermaster.

Battles and Engagements

Hiltz was on board for the battles with HMS Cyane and HMS Levant, and the capture of HMS Pictou.

Hiltz’s date and place of death are unknown, but he applied for a pension in 1856. He was reported as being disabled by then, but it was determined that he had not become so while in military service.
