Johnson joined Constitution ’s crew sometime before July 2, 1812 as an able seaman. He was discharged sometime after February 27, 1813.

Battles and Engagements

Johnson participated in victories over HMS Guerriere on August 19, 1812 and HMS Java on December 29, 1812, receiving $42.62 ½ and $42.30 in prize money for the victories. His battle station in 1812 was as first sponger for carronade no. 12 on the quarterdeck.
