Early Life

James Williams’s place and date of birth are not known.

Williams entered USS Constitution as an able seaman on December 8, 1813 at Boston, Massachusetts. He was on the starboard watch, assigned to the forecastle station. In battle, he served as the second loader on the no. 2 carronade. He transferred to USS Congress on June 1, 1815.

Battles and Engagements

Williams was on board for the battle with HMS Cyane and HMS Levant.

Williams was living in New York city in 1824. His date and place of death are unknown.
