He is reported as deserting on September 16, 1812 at Boston, but must have returned, as he was promoted on December 23, 1812 to sergeant. Brady transferred from USS Constitution to USS Chesapeake on March 27, 1813 at Boston, Massachusetts. Brady was wounded on USS Chesapeake on June 1, 1813. He entered Charlestown Navy Yard on July 5, 1813 at Charlestown Navy Yard. Brady deserted Charlestown Navy Yard on August 2, 1813 and was demoted on April 23, 1814. His rank was private. Brady transferred back to USS Constitution on December 11, 1814 at Boston, and was discharged on April 28, 1816.
