Early Life
John High was born in August 1781 to John and Mary (Salter) High. His place of birth is not known, but he was living in Marblehead, Massachusetts as of 1796.
He married Elizabeth Stacey on March 20, 1803. They had five sons and six daughters.
High entered USS Constitution on August 24, 1813 at Boston, Massachusetts. His rank was quartermaster. High provided a substitute on December 2, 1813.
High died from dropsy in the chest on September 16, 1853.
