Early Life

John Miller was born in February, 1791. His place of birth is unknown.

Miller married Mary Stone on June 6, 1824 in Marblehead. They had a daughter, Elisabeth Mary Miller, born in 1825. During his time on Constitution in 1812 and 1813, Miller had half his pay allotted to Hannah Stone, but it’s unclear whether she was related to Mary.

Miller entered USS Constitution on October 1, 1813 at Boston, Massachusetts. His rank was able seaman. He transferred from USS Constitution on June 1, 1815 at Portsmouth, New Hampshire.

Battles and Engagements

Miller was on board for the battle with HMS Cyane and HMS Levant.

Miller returned to Marblehead and work as a merchant seaman and later, a shoemaker. He died on August 20, 1869 in Marblehead, Massachusetts.
