John Stowe’s place and date of birth are not known.
Stowe transferred to USS Constitution from USS President on June 17, 1810 at Hampton Roads, Virginia. His rank was able seaman. He deserted on September 29, 1810 at Boston, Massachusetts. Stowe re-entered USS Constitution on April 15, 1811. He was promoted on August 25, 1811 to quarter gunner. Stowe departed USS Constitution on September 26, 1812.

Stowe was on board for the battle with HMS Guerriere.
