Early Life

John Whitefoot was born on October 5, 1786 in Salem, Massachusetts to Sarah and Ebenezer Whitefoot.

Twice in the first year of his service, Whitefoot had his pay allotted to his mother. After October, 1813, he had his pay allotted to Sally Hines, but her relationship is unknown.

Whitefoot entered USS Constitution as an able seaman on May 20, 1813 at Boston, Massachusetts. He was on the starboard watch, assigned to the fore top. In battle, he worked as the first loader on gun no. 1. He was discharged on June 15, 1815.

Battles and Engagements

Whitefoot was on board for the battle with HMS Cyane and HMS Levant.

Whitefoot’s date and place of death are unknown.
