Andrews joined Constitution ’s crew sometime before October 27, 1812 and left sometime after February 17, 1813. His rank is not known, but judging from his battle station, he was probably an able seaman.
Battles and Engagements
Andrews was on board for the battle with HMS Java on December 29, 1812. During the engagement he attended the main preventer braces and worked in the maintop to knot and splice damaged rigging.
