Early Life
Michael Irwin was born in Ireland. The date is not known.
Irwin joined USS Constitution sometime before November 12, 1811. He was assigned to the quarterdeck division and served as the second loader on the no. 12 gun. On March 22, 1812, while on board Constitution, he contracted a fever and was sick for 22 days before returning to duty.
