John’s place and date of birth are unknown.
Seaman Nicholas John transferred to Constitution from USS President at Hampton Roads, Virginia on June 17, 1810. His enlistment ran out and he was discharged on April 30, 1811 but reenlisted on May 1, 1811. He finally left the ship at Boston, Massachusetts sometime after February 17, 1813.
Battles and Engagements
John participated in victories over HMS Guerriere on August 19, 1812 and HMS Java on December 29, 1812, receiving $42.62 ½ and $42.30 in prize money for the victories. During the second battle he attended the fore braces, helping to maneuver the ship under sail.
John’s place and date of death are unknown.
