Peter Miller

Early Life

Peter Miller’s place and date of birth are not known.

Miller entered USS Constitution on December 3, 1813 at Boston, Massachusetts. His rank was able seaman on the larboard watch. He was assigned to the forecastle station, and served as first sponger on the no. 15 gun. He transferred to USS Congress on June 1, 1815 at Portsmouth, New Hampshire.

Battles and Engagements

Miller was on board for the battle with HMS Cyane and HMS Levant.

Miller’s shipmate, Thomas Bryon later wrote that after serving on Constitution, “Peter Miller got to be a great merchant and owned a great many ships and was a fine man…” Miller’s date and place of death are unknown.
