Early Life

Robert Murray’s place and date of birth are not known.

Murray transferred to USS Constitution as an ordinary seaman on July 10, 1811 at Washington D.C. In March 1812, he was diagnosed with syphilis. After efforts to treat him on board were unsuccessful he was sent to a hospital on shore. It’s unclear when he returned to duty, he must have recovered, because he did not depart USS Constitution until February 27, 1813.

Battles and Engagements

Murray was on board for the battles with HMS Guerriere and HMS Java.

Murray’s date and place of death are unknown.
