Early Life
Samuel Grant’s place and date of birth are not known.
Grant transferred from USS Wasp to USS Constitution as an able seaman on July 27, 1811. He was assigned to the quarterdeck division and served as the second captain on gun no. 6. For five days in March, 1812, he was in the sick bay due to “bad pain in bowls [sic]”. He was discharged on February 17, 1813.
Battles and Engagements
Grant was on board for the battles with HMS Guerriere and HMS Java.
Grant’s date and place of death are unknown.
