Richards enlisted on June 7, 1809. His rank was able seaman. He was promoted on March 26, 1810 to Boastwain’s Yeoman.
He transferred from USS President to USS Constitution on June 17, 1810 at Hampton Roads, Virginia. Richards deserted USS Constitution on September 20, 1812.
Battles and Engagements
Richards was on board for the battle with HMS Guerriere.
Richards’s date and place of death are unknown.
