Jenkins’ place and date of birth are unknown.

Ordinary Seaman Jenkins reported to Constitution on June 10, 1812 while the ship was at the Washington Navy Yard. He left the ship sometime after February 17, 1813.

Battles and Engagements

Jenkins participated in victories over HMS Guerriere on August 19, 1812 and HMS Java on December 29, 1812, receiving $42.62 ½ and $42.30 in prize money for the victories. During the second engagement Jenkins served as the second sponger and fireman at no. 4 carronade on the forecastle.
