Early Life
Stephen Stephens was born on February 23, 1789 in Marblehead, Massachusetts. His parents were John and Mary (Dove) Stephens.
Stephen had two older brothers, John and Thomas, and an older sister, Polly. John and Polly appear to have been twins, born on September 26, 1784.
Stephens entered USS Constitution as an able seaman on August 24, 1813 at Boston, Massachusetts. He was discharged on August 17, 1815.
Battles and Engagements
Stephens was on board for the battle with HMS Cyane and HMS Levant.
In 1822, Stephens was living in Marblehead, Massachusetts. He was likely working as a merchant mariner, when he died from fever while in the West Indies on October 24, 1822.
