Dixon’s place and date of birth are unknown

Dixon was recruited in Baltimore, Maryland on June 24, 1812 and joined Constitution ’s crew as an able seaman on July 2, 1812, while the ship lay at Annapolis. He left the ship sometime after February 17, 1813.

Battles and Engagements

Dixon participated in the victories over HMS Guerriere on August 19, 1812 and HMS Java on December 29, 1812. He received $42.62 ½ and $42.30 in prize money for the victories. During the second battle he served at gun no. 2 as 2nd sponger & fireman.
