Early Life

Thomas Mc Mahon was born in 1789 in Talbot, Massachusetts. He may have been a wheelwright before joining the Marines.

On his enlistment, McMahon was described as being 5 feet 5.5 inches tall, with blue eyes, brown hair and a light complexion.

McMahon enlisted in the Marine Corps on September 8, 1810 at Easton. His rank was private. He was on the larboard watch, stationed on the main top. He deserted on April 10, 1811 but was returned three days later. McMahon entered USS Constitution on August 5, 1813. On January 25, 1815, he was promoted to corporal. He departed USS Constitution on July 28, 1815. On August 27, 1815, he was demoted to private.

Battles and Engagements

Mc Mahon was on board for the battle with HMS Cyane and HMS Levant.

McMahon’s date and place of death are unknown.
