Early Life
Thomas Phipps was born in 1785 in Anarundel County, Maryland.
On his enlistment, Phipps was described as being 5′ 7.25″ tall, with blue eyes, light hair and a fair complexion.
Phipps entered USS Constitution as a private in the Marines on October 28, 1812. He departed on June 4, 1814 at Boston at the Charlestown Navy Yard.
Battles and Engagements
Phipps was on board for the battle with HMS Java.
Phipps transferred to USS Independence on April, 1815. He was discharged on January 15, 1818. His date and place of death are unknown.
