Thomas Staples’s place and date of birth are not known.

Staples entered USS Constitution as an able seaman on August 27, 1813 at Boston, Massachusetts. He was on the larboard watch, assigned to the forecastle station. He may have also served at some point as second sponger on gun no. 1 in the quarterdeck division. He was discharged on August 21, 1815.

Battles and Engagements

Staples was on board for the battle with HMS Cyane and HMS Levant.

Staples’s date and place of death are unknown.
