William Jones was born in 1777 in Milton, Massachusetts.
Jones enlisted Charlestown Navy Yard on July 1, 1813 at Charlestown, Massachusetts and entered USS Constitution on August 13. He was detached in December, 1813. He was discharged from the Marine Corps on October 18, 1815.
