Early Life
Lowry’s date and place of birth are unknown.
Very little is known of Lowry’s service. He enlisted as a boy on June 24, 1812 and was transferred from gunboat 81 to Constitution on August 2, 1812. His date of discharge is unknown but he was presumably on board at least until the ship returned to Boston following the defeat of HMS Guerriere.
Battles and Engagements
It is assumed that Lowry was on board for the battle with HMS Guerriere on August 19, 1812, and that he received prize money for the victory.
Lowry’s place and date of death are unknown.
