Early Life

William Metcalf was born between 1790 and 1796 in London, England.

Metcalf was married twice; first to Eunice Palmer, who died in 1851. On July 23, 1855 Metcalf married Lois Marean in Standish, Maine

Metcalf transferred to ex-HMS Cyane on February 20, 1815 as able seaman. He was discharged when the ship reached New York in June, 1815.

Battles and Engagements

Metcalf was on board for the battle with HMS Cyane and HMS Levant.

Metcalf moved to Maine and worked as a farmer. He died on September 20, 1879 in Gorham, Maine.
