William V. Taylor was born in Rhode Island. His date of birth is not known.
Taylor transferred to USS Constitution on June 17, 1810. His rank was midshipman. He received a commission on December 9, 1814 as lieutenant. Taylor was detached to USS Independence from Constitution on May 16, 1815 and returned in October, 1818. Taylor transferred to Boston Navy Yard on August 14, 1826 at Boston, Massachusetts.
Battles and Engagements
Taylor was on board for the battles with HMS Guerriere , HMS Java , HMS Cyane and HMS Levant .
Taylor died on February 11, 1858.
