Exploring Old Ironsides, a stunning visual souvenir guide by the USS Constitution Museum is available exclusively through the Museum Store. Journey through the decks of USS Constitution and uncover tales of courage, camaraderie, and life at sea during the Age of Sail.
This book serves as a pictorial tour of USS Constitution as it exists today. Starting high aloft in the rigging, it proceeds deck-by-deck down to the keel at the bottom, highlighting the ship’s spaces and how they were used by the sailors who lived and worked there in the early 1800s. Each section features photography of the ship by Greg M. Cooper with artifacts and documents from the USS Constitution Museum’s collection and fellow institutions. The images are enriched with detailed descriptions of each deck and what life was like aboard “Old Ironsides” during the Age of Sail written by the Museum’s Public Historian.
