Museum Celebrates Milestones with Free Birthday Block Party
CHARLESTOWN, MA (October 14, 2022)—On Saturday, October 22, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. ET, the USS Constitution Museum celebrates two historic milestone birthdays as USS Constitution turns 225 and the Museum turns 50 years with a free, public Birthday Block Party at the Charlestown Navy Yard.
People of all ages are invited to participate in a host of fun activities and games to mark the day, including a USS Constitution-themed 9-hole miniature golf that will take golfers around the Navy Yard on a course that features trivia reflecting the history of the ship and museum. In addition to enjoying a slice of birthday cake (while supplies last), birthday-goers can also play yard games and interactive activities, hosted by our military branches and USO New England. The Navy Band Northeast’s popular group will also be performing.
This event commemorates the start of USS Constitution’s historic 225th Anniversary, as well as the USS Constitution Museum’s 50th year engaging the community in the stories of “Old Ironsides.” The Museum will continue to mark the milestones through new initiatives serving educators, families, active military, veterans, and communities.
The event is free to the public. In the event of rain, a more limited range of activities will be conducted inside the Museum. More information is available on the Museum’s website. No registration is required.
