Representative Seth Moulton to Headline U.S. Marine Corps Birthday Breakfast at the Museum

CHARLESTOWN, MA (October 28, 2025)—The USS Constitution Museum will host its U.S. Marine Corps Birthday Breakfast on Monday, November 17, 2025, featuring U.S. Representative Seth Moulton (MA-06) as the keynote speaker. A distinguished Marine Corps veteran, Rep. Moulton will reflect on service, leadership, and the enduring values that continue to shape the Marine Corps and our nation.

Held in the Charlestown Navy Yard, the program will honor Marines past and present while sharing the story of LT William Sharp Bush, the first Marine to fall in combat during the War of 1812. LT Bush was mortally wounded in the celebrated engagement between USS Constitution and HMS Guerriere, the battle in which “Old Ironsides” earned its legendary nickname. This tribute underscores the Museum’s commitment to preserving stories of service and sacrifice.

“Each November, we gather to honor the Marines whose service exemplifies honor, courage, and commitment,” said Jeff Draeger, President and CEO of the USS Constitution Museum. “We are grateful to welcome Representative Moulton, whose record of service and public leadership speaks directly to the values we celebrate. We are equally proud to share the story of LT William Sharp Bush, whose sacrifice is forever linked to ‘Old Ironsides’ and to our nation’s history.”

The breakfast brings together civic, military, and community leaders to recognize the Marine Corps’ 250th year and the Museum’s work to connect people of all ages with the history and lessons of USS Constitution. Proceeds support the Museum’s engaging, interactive exhibits and educational programs that serve hundreds of thousands of visitors annually.

Representative Moulton added, “I’m honored to join my fellow Marines to celebrate the 250th birthday of the United States Marine Corps. Reaching such a milestone is a testament to the generations of courage, sacrifice, and service that continue to define our Corps today. I look forward to reflecting on my own experience as a Marine and how it continues to shape my life and values to this day.”
