USS Constitution Museum Hosts “At the Helm: A Conversation with USS Nantucket Leadership”

CHARLESTOWN, MA (November 7, 2024)—The USS Constitution Museum is pleased to announce an exclusive public event, At the Helm: A Conversation with USS Nantucket Leadership, on Tuesday, November 12, 2024. This special panel discussion will feature the leadership triad of the U.S. Navy’s newest ship, USS Nantucket (LCS 27)—a Freedom-class Littoral Combat Ship set to be formally commissioned in the Charlestown Navy Yard on November 16.

The event provides a unique opportunity to hear directly from USS Nantucket’s Commanding Officer, CDR Kari Yakubisin, USN; Executive Officer, CDR Angela A. Eickelmann, USN; and Senior Enlisted Leader, CMDCS Esmelin Villar, USN. In addition to discussing the excitement surrounding the ship’s commissioning, the panelists will share insights from their careers, leadership experiences, and personal journeys within the Navy. Following the discussion, attendees will be invited to engage with the speakers during a brief Q&A session.

“We’re honored to welcome the USS Nantucket’s leadership to the Museum and provide our community with this rare opportunity to connect with these distinguished Navy leaders,” said Anne Grimes Rand, President and CEO of the USS Constitution Museum. “Their perspectives offer a bridge between our maritime heritage and the future of naval operations, inspiring us all to appreciate the enduring importance of naval service.”

The evening will open with a pre-panel reception at 5:00 pm, generously supported by the USS Nantucket Commissioning Committee. Guests are invited to enjoy light refreshments and connect with fellow attendees before the 6:00 pm panel discussion.
