USS Constitution Museum Voted One of Top Five U.S. History Museums in USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice
CHARLESTOWN, MA (May 21, 2021)—The USS Constitution Museum ranks #5 in USA Today’s 2021 10Best Readers’ Choice travel awards in the category of “Best History Museum.” In a highly competitive category of top museums from around the United States, online votes determined the winners from a group of 20 initial nominees. The Museum was the sole nominee and winner in this category from New England.

USS Constitution is underway today in Boston Harbor and celebrating its reopening this afternoon. The cruise is streaming on Facebook Live on the U.S. Navy’s page. “Old Ironsides” will be open Friday-Sunday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
The USS Constitution Museum is open this weekend, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., and it will be open daily for the summer beginning on Thursday, May 27. During Memorial Day weekend, Museum visitors can craft a poppy—a symbol of remembrance—to honor a fallen military service member in their life or share a message of gratitude and add it to our memorial poppy garden. The completed poppies will be featured in a Memorial Day ceremony on board USS Constitution.
The Museum continues to offer virtual content and engaging digital experiences to visitors at home. This initiative includes robust outreach with videos, blog posts, collection highlights, and more. Every day the Virtual Museum shares dynamic content through its social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and the website usscm.org. The Museum also offers online visitors A Sailor’s Life for Me, an award-winning dynamic game and educator resource that gives people of all ages a chance to step into the shoes of an 1812 sailor.
