Join the Museum in honoring those who gave their lives in service to our country.

 

Celebrate Memorial Day at the USS Constitution Museum. Activities throughout the day will recognize the service and sacrifice of our military community.

All military community members – Service Members, Veterans, and their Families – receive complimentary admission to the Museum during the month of May, made possible by the generous support of USAA.

Willow Tree Tribute

This month, Museum visitors are encouraged to make a leaf to be placed on our Willow Tree in tribute to a fallen USS Constitution service members and share why celebrating Memorial Day is important to them. Willow trees can be rooted from cuttings with ease, and is seen as a survivor and a symbol of rebirth. This activity is available to all Museum visitors during operating hours until Sunday, May 26.

 

 

 

USS Constitution Memorial Day Ceremony

Join USS Constitution‘s crew in honoring fallen service members in a special ceremony on board the Ship. This ceremony is open to the public and will begin at 11:30 am on Monday, May 27.

 

 

 

 

Taps Across America

3:00 PM

At 3:00 pm, the Museum will pause with National Parks of Boston and USS Constitution for a duration of one minute in silence as taps will sound at Charlestown Navy Yard and Bunker Hill Monument.  We invite you to join us in this National Moment of Remembrance as Americans remember those who died in Military Service.


Family-Friendly Event to Commemorate the Day:

Make a Patriotic Flag Pin
Saturday, May 27- Monday, May 29

Create a flag pins out of beads with options that are friendly for all ages.  A symbolic way to remember our fallen service members and the freedoms they were defending.  Available at the Museum, while supplies last (no registration required).
