Souvenir Canoe
This miniature carved canoe is made of wood from USS Constitution. It is unclear when exactly the piece was crafted, but the wood was likely removed from the ship during one of its many restorations. It was crafted from a single piece of wood that was dug out to form a long, narrow canoe with a dull prow and a knob-shaped protruding stern. The canoe’s hull has been carved into a geometric pattern and painted red and black. There is a nail in the prow and wire around the stern.
