U.S.S. Constitution Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies Box
Demoulas Market Basket, a grocery store chain based in New England, released a series of Boston-themed cookies in the 1990s as part of a product line marketed as the “New England Collection.” Each type of cookie represented a different historical site in Boston, including Faneuil Hall, the Freedom Trail, Old North Church, the Tea Party, Bunker Hill, Paul Revere’s House, and USS Constitution. The “U.S.S. Constitution” cookie flavor was oatmeal chocolate chip, which was probably much tastier than the ship’s biscuit, or hardtack, served to the crew during the War of 1812.
